category
Crews
Team dances consisting of 5 or more dancers. Each team will perform on the floor once. Our judges will score each team. Music must be provided by the Crew/Teacher before the competition date.
Duos
2 dancers competing on the floor against the rest of their category. Multiple dancers will be on the floor at the same time for a 45/60 second round, our judges will select duos to move onto the next heat until we reach a final. Music will not be provided beforehand.
Solos
Freestyle solos. Multiple dancers will be on the floor at the same time for a 45/60 second round, our judges will then select dancers to move on to the next heat until we reach a final. Music will not be provided beforehand.
Experience Level
01
Novice
First year competing in dance competitions. If you have previously danced at any dance competition you may NOT enter NOVICE if you placed 1st to 3rd in another event.
02
Open
Beginner/starter dancers that have been competing for 2 or more years and NOT won at JAMZNI.
03
Advanced
Champ or advanced status dancers, anyone who has placed 1st or 2nd at JamzNI/ Spectrum/ DanceSupreme/ UDO/ Street Champs ETC.
04
Pro
Dancers of a professional standard and dance teachers.

Note: Any teachers competing at JamzNI MUST compete at a Pro level.
Age Categories:
6 & under, 9 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under, Over 17
You must compete in the correct age category for your age on the day of the competition. Competitors must compete in the age group of the oldest member in the group. In case a protest arises due to age concerns please be prepared to show proof of age.

For Teams: Dancers must compete in the age category of the OLDEST in their team.

You MUST have your PPC (personal profile card) first before joining an event.
This card gives you a unique registration number which you will use for EVERY JamzNI Event. Your LEVEL and details will be stored under this number.
Registration is easy! Simply fill in the form, pay the registration fee, and your details will be saved. From there you may sign up to any and all categories.
Levelling UP with JAMZ NI
To advance from Open to Advanced dancers must lose 3 lives in their solo category. Lives are lost in the following ways:​​
If there are 12 or fewer dancers in the category, first place loses a life
​
If there are 13-18 dancers in the category, first and second lose a life
​
If there are 20+ dancers in the category, first, second and third lose a life
Teams must be entered into the category of the HIGHEST LEVEL dancer in the team.
Judges

Jamz NI panel of judges will be judging based on Technique, Musicality, Content, and Performance.
Each category is scored out of 25 - 100 marks in TOTAL.
5 mark deduction for incorrect timings in music.

5 mark deduction for swearing or inappropriate language in the tracks.

5 mark deductions for unacceptable behaviour on and off the stage.
